Specialty Crop & Urban Ag Workshop

This workshop will focus on ag law topics for speciality crop and urban ag producers.
The featured  speaker will be Roger McEowen, Professor of Agriculture Law and Taxation at Washburn University School of Law, Topeka. Roger will discuss: 

  • Legalities on fencing

  • Legalities on signage

  • Kansas statute and agritourism concerning volunteers & liability

  • Organic or no commercial herbicide use & chemical drift

  • Specialty focused business plans

We will also have USDA staff on hand to share about building a relationship with USDA specifically for specialty crop and urban ag producers.
FSA Farm Loan Managers and NRCS District Conservationists will discuss 

  • Establishing farm records with USDA

  • Micro loan options with FSA 

  • Developing conservation plans with NRCS
