Join the Tallgrass Legacy Alliance for an insightful tour on native hay meadow management and innovative grazing practices at the Woodson Wildlife Area!

Agenda:

  • 11:00am | Meet at the Woodson Wildlife Area Shop Facility, located at 738 Fegan Rd, Toronto, KS (Southwest Corner of Lake Fegan)

  • 11:30am |Catered lunch at WOSL Shop  
    - PowerPoint presentation by John Johnson, Woodson Wildlife Area Manager
    - Brief historical overview of Woodson WA
    - Discussion on utilizing Ecological Drivers for Grazing Management Decisions to restore grassland health and productivity

  • 12:15-12:30pm | Load up on trailers for:
    - Tour of two Native Hay Meadows near Woodson WA
    - Walk and talk about hay meadow management

  • 3:45-4:15pm | Loop through Woodson WA pastures for a tour and discussion on the way back to the shop.

  • 4:30pm | Arrive back at the shop and conclude the tour.
